Bangladesh-Windies 1st Test ends in draw


West Indies scored 244 in the first innings on the fifth day. Bangladesh declared their second innings making 119 for the loss of three wickets on the fifth day and set a target of 226 runs to win for West Indies on the fifth day.
Needing 226 runs to win, West Indies scored 100 for the loss of two wickets in the second innings at the close of the fifth and final day play.
West Indies resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 144 for the loss of five wickets. Then left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan and debutante Elias Sunny dominated over the tourists' batsmen and the Caribbeans lost their rest of the five wickets for 100 runs.
Skipper Darren Sammy hit a captain's knock of 58 off 43 balls including eight fours and two sixes before he was cleanly bowled out by Shakib Al Hasan.
Carlton Baugh was the other notable batsman for the islanders who made 30 off 32 balls amid five fours before he was cleanly bowled out by Elias Sunny.
Elias Sunny bowled also well on the fifth day and finished his spell as 23-0-94-6.
Shakib Al Hasan grabbed three wickets giving away  53 runs.
 Later, Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal & Shahriar Nafees was the most successful batsman for the hosts. Darren Sammy, Ravi Rampaul and Marlon Samuels took one wicket apiece.
West Indies made a poor start in their second innings batting as they lost their opener Craig Brathwaite for a duck. He was cleanly bowled out by Elias Sunny when the visitors' total was just five for the loss of one wicket.
Then, Lendl Simmons and KA Edwards added 53 runs in the second-wicket stand before Simmons was caught by Rubel Hossain off Shakib Al Hasan when West Indies' total was 58 for the loss of two wickets.
Simmons hit a remarkable 44off 49 balls amid five fours and a sixer.
KA Edwards and Darren Bravo remained undefeated with 28 and 24 runs respectively.
Elias Sunny and Shakib Al Hasan plucked one wicket each for 34 runs each.
Debutante Elias Sunny was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.

Bangladesh 350 for 9 decl (Mushfiqur 68, Tamim 52, Bishoo 3-81) and 119 for 3 decl (Nafees 50) drew with West Indies 244 (Sammy 58, Chanderpaul 49, Sunny 6-94) and 100 for 2 (Simmons 44, Edwards 28*)
